What She Should Have Worn: Olga Kurylenko

Olga WSSHW

Olga Kurylenko has become something of a fashion darling over the last few years, people can’t wait to see what she’s going to wear next and some of the biggest names in fashion are vying to dress her. But that’s naturally what happens when someone has great style, and Olga is no exception, this French beauty has been seen in everything from a yellow gown covered in flower petals to a Valentino confection made of black leather and lace. But like all those who like to take style chances, sometimes they get it wrong. During Paris Fashion Week, Olga attended the Jean-Paul Gaultier show in a navy blue tulle skirt, black jacket, and black pumps. While the dark colors were beautiful against Olga’s dark hair and porcelain skin, there was just too much going on, and Olga seemed to get lost in the outfit. The skirt was a little too long, and the jacket looked like it may have been a size or two too big, completely overwhelming her gorgeous figure. Olga would have been better off choosing a shorter hem that would have shown off her amazing legs, and a cropped jacket with shorter sleeves that would have elongated her, making her appear taller. The part that Olga did get right were her black pumps and blue pendant necklace, they complete the look without making it look overdone.

What She Should Have Worn…All Along!

Pamela

Who would’ve ever thought that the words “Pamela Anderson” and “chic” would ever be together in the same sentence?Well, it seems that a lot more has changed recently than just Pam’s hair, she’s had an entire style make-over!

After chopping her long blond locks into a chic pixie cut, Pamela’s seemingly gone from trashy to classy overnight. Gone are the penciled on eyebrows, too-tight clothes, and fake-orange tan; instead, she’s swapped them for a more natural look complete with a new wardrobe of classic cardigans and tasteful dresses.

This is past October, while out and about in L.A., Pamela appeared to be channeling Mia Farrow in a striped dress, cream colored cardigan, and black ballet flats. This is a great, fresh look for spring, and perfect for keeping off the chill from that early spring weather.

What She Should Have Worn: Kelly Rowland & Kirsten Dunst

Less than a week ago Hollywood’s finest strolled down the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet. “For over 25 years, GLAAD has worked with news, entertainment and social media to bring culture-changing stories of LGBT people into millions of homes and workplaces every day.”

Kelly Rowland GLAAD Awards

Amongst the many, Grammy Award winning artist Kelly Rowland performed the 2009 smash hit “When Love Takes Over.” Kelly showed her individuality and charm, she was dressed in white from head to toe, pairing wide leg tuxedo trouser with pants a turtle neck halter and white platform Christian Louboutins. While this look had the potential to be show-stopping, we would have loved to see Rowland bring on the glam and a little bit of sassy, like the title of her newest album suggest, Talk A Good Game.

Kristin Dunst GLAAD Awards

Child star turned movie star, Kirsten Dunst also appeared on the carpet in a Little Black Dress by Emilio Pucci. Dunst is often a risk-taker when it comes to fashion, we’ve seen her bring on the sexy and cover it all up wearing a chic yet conservative suit. Dunst on the red carpet is always an event we look forward to. She is starring in the upcoming french film, The Two Faces of January, in the role of Colette MacFarland, the wife of a con-artist. We expect to see Dunst on the scene quite frequently this year, we just hopes she brings on the sophistication and keeps us guessing!

What She Should Have Worn: Fergie & Jessica

It is a norm in the life of any contemporary professional stylista to attend special events, whether it’s a co-worker’s wedding, a new year’s eve party, a movie premiere or an awards show. These two #CPS decided to strut their stuff on the red carpet of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Fergie, aka “mommy-to-be” wore a colorful fitted long-sleeved dress from Mary Katrantzou’s Spring 2012 collection. We all know Fergie has a great body so a body con style dress is a no brainier  but the print of her dress paired with the background of the “step and repeat,” was a bit much for our taste.

Also in attendance was one of our favorite “west coast lovelies,” Jessica Alba. This mother of two is back on the scene, also in a classy number by Mary Katrantzou! Alba once again has graced us with her Southern California charm and beauty but we would have loved to see her pair such a gorgeous dress with more suitable accessories, in style and color.

So we decide to “#WSSHW” our favorite “fergalicious fashionista” and so-cal version of “the girl next door.”
