Pantone Color Of The Year 2014: Radiant Orchid

Radiant Orchid, ever since Pantone released its 2014 color of the year it’s all everyone has been talking about. The color is a beautiful purple and has me wanting to be in a field of flowers. Unfortunately, it’s still a little chilly for that but incorporating it into your wardrobe is not a problem! & This trend is here to stay as spring approaches us. Now, here are a few tips I have on working this color into your office attire and making a statement when grabbing drinks with the girls.

Work: Just because its Monday doesn’t mean you should wear the same blazer you did last Monday. Nope –  it’s time to give your office style a boost. The key to this look is sticking to the basics while adding pops of color. I suggest wearing your favorite black slacks, a patterned blouse, and topping it off with a sand colored cape. Once you’ve got this classic look put together have some fun and brighten up your outfit with a bold pair of heels, oversized purse (for all of your must-haves) and a statement necklace.  If you are still craving more of this dazzling color, try adding a skinny belt and polish you nails.

Weekend: Radiant Orchid is going to be your new favorite staple for making the most of your weekends. This bright hue will have you making statements and keeping the energy high. I started this look with a classic structured blouse incorporating light rouging. Next, pair it with a Khaki colored circle skirt and a denim jacket. These neutral tones will help keep your outfit from being too overwhelming. I also chose to pair this look with a cheetah flat and bold dangling earrings to give it a little more spice. Keep your bag simple such as a black cross body or clutch and I always enjoy an arm party, so stack on those bangles!
