Oscars 2014 Best Dressed

It was the year of the metallic and pastels gowns, but no matter the color the confidence and talent that took the red carpet was enough to stun us all.

Not only were there a wide array of hair and makeup at this year’s Oscars, but the styling was very diverse as well. The off-the-runway trends paired with everything from gold to silver jewelry and flowing to structure hairstyles had us on our toes the entire time. Here are some of our favorites from the runway that shared their confidence as well as style on the red carpet.

This has been the year of Lupita Nyong’o. She seems to have taken the cake at every award show this season and the Oscars were no exception. Gracing the red carpet in a flowing powder blue gown custom made by Prada, Lupita accessorized with a beautiful headband and a confidence that was radiant to all.

Her third Oscar nomination and Jennifer Lawrence has yet to fail us on the red carpet. Simplicity and uniqueness come to mind when complimenting her style. Wearing a stunning Dior gown and her trendsetting backwards necklace, Lawrence strikes an elegant pose.

Chrissy Teigen took the red carpet in a Monique Lhuillier Fall 2014 gown. In a strapless and elegantly styled black gown with pink printed flowers, she took the carpet looking chic and effortless and landed among our best dressed. John Legend as her arm candy didn’t hurt either.

Kate Hudson looked flawless as she took the red carpet in a stunning Atelier Versace gown. The caped number accompanied by her subtle silver jewelry and matching clutch was the perfect way to make a statement at this year’s Oscars. As a present, Kate’s gorgeous hair and subtle yet stunning makeup looked amazing all throughout the night.

To no surprise, Kerry Washington took home one of our favorite looks of the night. Sporting a gorgeous mauve Jason Wu gown accompanied by a perfectly paired shoe and diamond bangles, she had everything pulled together perfectly. Add to that a plum lipstick and windswept hair and you’ve got yourself the recipe for a perfect red carpet look.

Camilla Alves kept the pastel trend alive in her gorgeous Versace gown. With a pale pink and a clutch to match, what really put her over the top was her amazing hair and makeup. Styled in a naked lip that matched her soft gown, Camilla looked flawless as she joined Matthew McConaughey on the red carpet.

Sandra Bullock brought a timeless and classic look to the red carpet as she flaunted her elegant and flawless style. Going against this year’s trends in a standout navy Alexander McQueen gown, Sandra paired her stunning gown with unique Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewelry for a perfect and show-stopping look.

Hollywood Barhopping

On typical weekend tourists drawn by bright lights and flashy cars, flock to the Hollywood strip hoping to experience what some might describe as a night in Vegas – new friends, lots of drinks and great music. While the idea of such a night may cross the mind of native Angeleno’s, sometime a sweaty room, slippery dance floor and abrasive bouncers is not the ideal night. Instead, a warm atmosphere, soft music, and a great conversation is all the mind craves – that and a drink.

From 3pm to 6pm their daily happy hour draws in a crowd – serving beer, wine and well cocktails are served for the low prices of $4 to $6, french fries and onion rings for just $2 (they even have sweet potato fries for those who prefer a healthy option).

For the grand finally have a burger! 25 Degrees host 4 different of burgers: number one, two, three and number four. #4 is a #UBlushApproved favorite – just imagine a yellowfin tuna patty stacked with butter lettuce, crispy fired onions and spicy aioli sauce! It’s simply delicious!

Like any burger joint, shakes are a must, but wait, 25 Degrees offered milkshakes palatable to the taste buds of adults 21 & up – Spiked Shakes! As salted caramel is the new craze in the world of gelato and ice cream, there’s no question as to why a Salty Caramel shake – made up of maker’s mark, butterscotch, vanilla ice cream and Hawaiian red sea salt – makes the cut.

Cleverly named after a temperature that distinguishes the difference between a raw and “well-done” burger, it’s no wonder each burger is cooked to perfection.
