Woman On The Go

If there’s one thing we all crave, its simplicity. How many times have you looked at your calendar and wondered how you were going to fit all of your commitments, dates, and meetings into one day? Or week?

The modern woman is always on the go. From the boardroom, to the office, to happy hour with the girls, there is no space in her schedule for breaks or wardrobe changes. So when a busy day is on the horizon, how does the contemporary, professional stylista go about making sure that her look is fun, flawless, professional, and most importantly, professional? Transition clothing is the name of the game.

The key is not to try too hard; you must appear effortless and composed. You’ve got enough to worry about besides figuring out what to wear. Scroll down for a list of some our favorites.

Don’t call it a comeback. Knits epitomize comfort and simplicity. There are plenty of knit options to choose from— a simple black knit blazer, paired with a fitted tee and a leather skirt will keep you looking fashionable and professional, all day long.

The wrap dress never goes out of style. Paired with a blazer, jacket, or dressy cardigan, the wrap dress can and will take you everywhere you need to be.

Spring Fling

Spring Fling Look

There are always a few items in your wardrobe you save for the perfect time of year – Spring! When it comes to spring many thoughts cross my mind. I think of pastels and tulips, sunny days and cozy nights, soft pinks and purples. I also think of spring flings, the crush of the season!

Crushes are a whimsical affair. You may not know him well but you always notice little things he does. The way he cracks a smile after taking a sip of his morning cup of joe, how he never forgets to ask you how your day is going, or how he always manages to hold the elevator for you. You yearn for these moments of interaction which are on constant repeat in your mind. You just wish he would notice you; that he was more than just a crush.

So with spring flings in mind, how can a contemporary professional stylista catch the attention of a prospective beau while maintaining her composure?

Here are two looks that show you how!

What’s in Your Closet?

There are 10 items every Contemporary Professional Stylista needs in her Closet! While most of the items we have selected are in black, owning any of them in a variation of tan or brown would be just as productive for your everyday style.

10. Combat Boots. When you’re on the go, sometimes it’s hard to run errands in your beloved 4 inch heels. Maintain the “about my business” look by wearing a pair of haute combat boots!

So, Whats in your Closet?

Casual Fridays

Black and White Outfit

The Dot.com boom, produced what most would consider a Godsend, “Casual Friday!” Originally an American and Canadian trend, the fifth day of the work week provides a subtle sense of freedom for the everyday professional stylista. For a minor history lesson, Casual Friday dates back to 1947, where in the city of Honolulu employees were allowed to wear their signature “Aloha” shirt.

While Casual Friday can be fun and exciting, it is important to remember you are still going to work, so perhaps the mini-skirts, bermuda shorts and skin tight dresses would be best left in the closet. On a personal note, when I think of Casual Friday, jeans and a t-shirt, are my go to items. I would pair them with a chic blazer, so to maintain a minor business appeal. As many of us ladies love our pedicures, it’s quite unfortunate that on a regular basis we can not show them off, so on this day go for an open-toe heel! Lastly the bag! Now it’s not too often that we would break out the “Best of the Best” for an average day at work but by the time the clock strikes 5pm, Casual Friday has me in the mood for Happy Hour. Needless to say cat-eye shades are haute and accessories are a must! So, if you are privileged with the luxury of Casual Friday, Enjoy! If not, this is also the perfect look for a sunny first date!
